Jr Mock Interviews: Need Volunteers

Main Details:

  • Junior Mock Interviews are on Thursday, December 5th from 7:30 - 10:30.

  • We need 16 volunteers for the entire time period to act as interviewers.

  • Little to no experience is necessary since we provide questions, and these interviews are for entry level positions.

  • The interviews take place in our Commons, and each interview will take about 15 minutes.

On Thursday, December 5th, we're having our Junior mock interviews that give our students real life experiences in the job interviewing process. But we can't do this without you!

  • We are looking for 16 volunteers to conduct the interviews, and most of you will interview 5 students.

  • Volunteers will check in at ACMA's Main Office at 7:30am to sign in on our register and to receive your folders; which will contain resumes, cover letters and evaluation forms for each of the students that they will be interviewing.

  • From 7:30 - 8am the interviewers will be escorted to their interview location in the Commons and have some time to review the information they have before interviews begin.

  • At 8am, our first students will come down for their interviews.

  • Each interview slot is 30 minutes; 15 - 20 minutes are used for the interview and five minutes are used to give the student feedback.

  • Once the interview is complete and the student have been dismissed, the interviewer has five minutes to complete the student evaluation form.

We also encourage interviewers to write suggestions and edits on the other student materials. Interviewers can use any leftover time between interview slots for restroom breaks.

We will supply a list of potential questions for the interviewers to use. The students will be instructed to pretend to be interviewing for an entry level job of their choice. We ask that our interviewers play along and ask questions that would be appropriate to the job that the students mention on their cover letters.

Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity. Without volunteers, we cannot help our students have these real life experiences!
