Hello ACMA Family,
The teachers filmed video introductions, polished up a syllabus for every course, and posted everything to Canvas. My office staff and I made an introductory video, organized things, and got ready for a first at ACMA: Virtual Back to School Night.
But what’s that famous line: The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray.
This afternoon, they did.
Canvas, our district’s system for delivering content to students isn’t yet open for students to access content. The videos and syllabi are there, but they’re on the other side of a screen that will give you a “Not Yet Available” message if you’re able to find them. ...tonight, anyway.
So I’m choosing to see this as an opportunity to practice patience, show grace, and work through the first challenge of the year. I’ll do all I can tomorrow morning to get ACMA families access to Canvas and as soon as I do (whether that’s tomorrow, Saturday, or Sunday) I’ll send out the email sitting in my DRAFT box letting you know that BTSN is available for you to see.
There’s a line by Leonard Cohen, that singer of songs, that echoes in my mind: “If you don’t become the ocean you’ll be seasick every day.” There’s no reason to be seasick; we can roll with the waves and we’ll figure this out.
I wish you a great night,
